Enjoy creative, social evenings of pottery making, acrylic painting and basket weaving workshops. The sessions consist of classes designed to explore various mediums for beginners and seasoned artists. Learn the ancient techniques of hand-building and weaving and develop new skills with painting & drawing.

June 7th & 21st (Basket weaving)
Pottery making: Hand-building slabbing, coiling & pinching projects. Learn etching techniques and your own plate, cup, bowl, candle holders and more.
Pottery collection 10th May
Painting: Progress through easy to follow exercises designed to teach more about the medium, and put ideas into practice, creating a series of original acrylic paintings to take away.
Examples of painting themes include realism, Impressionism, expressionism, surrealism, and abstract art.
Basket weaving: Use natural materials sourced from Uganda to make a key holder/coaster/placement and develop your skills to make your own unique basket.
Each class will move through a number of topics and allow you to spend time sculpting, sketching, experimenting and understanding approaches to pottery making, painting and basket weaving.
Each class sits independently, so you don’t need to have come before to join.
Friendly and relaxed guidance throughout from artist Fatima Garelnabi. Small group sizes to allow lots of interaction and individual tuition.
Includes:
Painting:28x36cm canvas
Pottery making: Clay, underglaze pigments, firing and glazing.
Basket weaving: Raffia, banana leaf stems, needles.
Aprons & all tools are provided. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.
Maximum class size 8-10 people.
The classes have a minimum of 5 attendees. If there are not enough people signed up, the course will not go ahead and you will be fully refunded.
No experience needed! Open to beginners, hobbyists & creatives of all levels. Ages 8+ welcome (kids under 10 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult). Basket weaving is only suitable for adults.
