
Basket Weaving

Enjoy a creative, social evening at a basket weaving workshops. The sessions consist of classes designed to teach traditional African weaving techniques for beginners and seasoned artists. Learn the ancient techniques of weaving passed down for generations.
Basket weaving: Use natural materials sourced from Uganda to make a key holder/coaster/placement and develop your skills to make your own unique basket.
Each class will move through a number of topics and allow you to spend time experimenting and understanding approaches basket weaving.
Each class sits independently, so you don’t need to have come before to join.
Friendly and relaxed guidance throughout from artist Fatima Garelnabi. Small group sizes to allow lots of interaction and individual tuition.

May 10th & 24th (Painting on Canvas)
June 7th & 21st (Basket weaving)
Includes:
Basket weaving: Raffia, banana leaf stems, needles.
Aprons & all tools are provided. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.
Maximum class size 8 people.
The classes have a minimum of 5 attendees. If there are not enough people signed up, the course will not go ahead and you will be fully refunded.
No experience needed! Open to beginners, hobbyists & creatives of all levels.
