Batik is an ancient fabric art adopted by many African tribes. Batik art in Africa is known for its intricate patterns and vibrant colours. For centauries batik art has been used to portray daily life, landscapes, animals and celebrations. The process of creating batik involves applying wax to fabric to create a resist, then dyeing the fabric.
